Mobility Consortium

Last week, I gave a presentation at the Mobility Consortium, and yesterday I attended a steering committee meeting. I was joined by Mr. Nishino, Executive Vice President of Hitachi; Professor Harada of the University of Tokyo; and Chiaki from Loftwork, among others.

Wasn’t the role of cities to foster a sense of community? Cities have faced crises time and again, and each time they have strengthened their infrastructure, increased urban concentration, and created new cultures. That’s because urban concentration was the key to recovery.

However, as we build the next urban civilization, we must explore new forms of “intimacy” through a hybrid of the digital and the real. Can we use technology to find a way to reconcile the opposing concepts of “intimacy” and “distancing”?We’re currently taking on that challenge in Takeshiba. As for our relationship with JR East, we’ve been discussing deepening our collaboration with The Waters Takeshiba to expand our initiatives across the entire Takeshiba area, as well as exploring partnerships with Shinagawa to expand our reach to a wider region (*^^*)
