[Event Report] 5th Data Working Group Meeting

We held the 5th Data Working Group meeting.

Date and Time: Wednesday, February 25, 2021, 1:00–2:00 p.m. *Online event*

1) Overview
of the “Data-Related Online Symposium” held by Learning of Tomorrow in January 2021 2) Discussion

■ Key Issue: How exactly should we proceed with the collection and utilization of
educational data?

■ By consolidating key opinion
data with the individual, that person can make full use of the data for their own benefit, and since secondary use is possible solely at their discretion, the value of the data is maximized.

Rather than having a specific entity centrally manage the data of many people, a decentralized management system—in which each individual manages their own data (via their own app)—enhances convenience and security while minimizing costs.

It is also necessary to consider related business models.

If we use the curriculum guidelines to establish standards and collaborate with the private sector, we may be able to quickly surpass other countries with advanced education systems.

Data analysis leads to operational improvements. Education is no exception.

We should speed up the discussion on education data.

We should collaborate with private companies that have business incentives.
