[Announcement] “Preparing for ‘What-If’ Disasters with VR/AR: The Role and Potential of IT in Disaster Preparedness”

For the online symposium on Wednesday, March 3, we will welcome Professor Tomoki Itamiya from Kanagawa Dental University as part of the first installment of our “VR × Education” series.

In Japan, a country prone to natural disasters, promoting disaster prevention education has become a major social issue. By experiencing disasters such as floods, fires, and earthquakes through VR and AR, people can truly grasp the risks involved as if they were happening to them personally, which can serve as a catalyst for taking concrete preventive measures.

Professor Itamiya, who developed the AR disaster simulation app “Disaster Scope®” and the “VR Tsunami Experience Driving Simulator,” will speak about their educational benefits and future prospects. We hope you’ll join us!
