National Elementary and Junior High School Programming Competition and Area Partners

The National Elementary and Junior High School Programming Contest (JJPC) has partnered with regional programming contests and has been supporting them as “Area Partners” since the 2020 school year.

So, representatives from the four prefectures serving as area partners—Nagano, Shizuoka, Wakayama, and Kagoshima—along with members of the JJPC Secretariat (Mr. Endo from ASCII and Mr. Tsuchihashi from CANVAS) took the stage to discuss their initiatives to date and the challenges involved in organizing the contest.

In addition to serving on the JJPC Executive Committee and as a member of its secretariat, I also served as a judge for the Wakayama Prefecture “Kinokuni ICT Programming Contest,” and I was deeply impressed by how the children’s projects reflected the unique characteristics of their region. It would be wonderful to see projects from all over the country that showcase the distinctive features of the regions where the children live.

The JJPC awards ceremony is also scheduled for this month.
