Saturday, November 14, 2020  “Let’s Make Digital Instruments”  (Preschool Class) in Takeshiba  We held a programming workshop  (Program provided by OtOMO, Daisuke Kuramoto)!

The sounds that surround us…

What sounds did you hear between the time you woke up and when you got to the lab??

Try to remember it really well. 

What kinds of sounds were there?

The Sound of the Elevator

The Sound of a Car Driving

The Sound of a Train

The sound of the alarm ringing

If you listen closely, even inside the lab, you can hear a "whirring" and "humming" sound…

I can hear a mysterious sound.

What kinds of sounds do you think you can make?

What sounds can you hear?

At the loud noise…

A faint sound…

Even if you choose the same thing, it can produce a different sound.

Sometimes you can hear lots of sounds coming from a single object.

If possible, let's all listen to each other's stories.

Once I finish one, it's back to searching for sounds and creating them. 

I wonder what kind of sound I can make next?

The research lab was filled with all kinds of sounds, shapes, and colors.

    After graduating from the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Tokyo, he served as a visiting researcher at the MIT Media Lab before founding the NPO CANVAS and the Learning of Tomorrow Association, a General Incorporated Association, and assuming the role of representative. He serves as an outside director for Matsuya Co., Ltd., Fuji Media Holdings, Inc., and Digital Garage, Inc.
    He has served on various government committees, including the Information and Communications Council of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, as well as the NHK Central Broadcasting Program Council. He also serves as a director of the Digital Signage Consortium, among other roles. He holds a Ph.D. in Policy and Media.
    His publications include *Turning On Children’s Creativity!*, *What Are Smart Kids Doing on Their Smartphones?*, *The Forefront of Online Education in Japan: Considering Learning in the Post-COVID Era*,“What Is Programming Education? 45 Questions Parents Want to Know,” and “Declaration on Digital Education.” He has also provided supervision for numerous works, including “Ah, I See! Programming Education for Parents and Children Through Manga.”
