- [Announcement] The 27th Learning of Tomorrow Online Symposium: “The Challenge of Paving the Way for Diversity in Learning—The ROCKET Project to Discover Exceptional Talents”
For the 27th Online Symposium, we are pleased to welcome Professor Kentaro Nakamura from the Research Center for Advanced Science and Technology at the University of Tokyo, who will speak on “The Challenge of Pioneering Diversity in Learning: The ROCKET Project for Discovering Exceptional Talent.”
Dr. Nakamura, driven by a desire to pursue a new society where diversity is the norm and to create a society where everyone can live doing what they love, has launched the “ROCKET” project—which identifies “exceptional talents” among elementary and middle school students who are prone to school refusal—as well as “DO-IT Japan,” a university and community experience program for children with disabilities or illnesses, and “Altech,” a project that expands the possibilities for people with disabilities by utilizing everyday technology such as computers and digital voice recorders.
In particular, the ROCKET Project for Discovering Exceptional Talent is a program aimed at children who possess unique talents and a strong sense of purpose but struggle to fit in at school precisely because of their uniqueness. In this unpredictable new era, it may become a driving force for changing Japan’s one-size-fits-all education system.
Dr. Nakamura will speak about his passion for the project and more. We hope you’ll join us.
