- Smart City Takeshiba
I’m sorry to see that our casual chat at Port City Takeshiba before it opened was featured on the Tokyu Real Estate homepage… ^^;
We have been working to develop Takeshiba into a city that brings together cutting-edge technologies, but I believe Takeshiba’s greatest appeal is that, at this very moment, it is a city we are all building together.
A city where you can create your ideal community with your own hands and through your own actions.
Rather than a "creative city" where only members of the creative class gather, I'd prefer a creative city where everyone can express their creativity.
That’s why the three themes of my community development efforts are “Playful,” “Smart,” and “Social.”
What will happen in a smart city? By leveraging data, cities will become safer and more secure, as well as more efficient and convenient.But that alone isn’t enough to make a city appealing. Precisely because AI and robots are taking over labor, the real appeal lies in how each individual can use the time freed up to unleash their creativity and pursue their own goals. Isn’t that what makes a city truly appealing? I hope this city will be one where people can live vibrant, active lives—and where the city itself supports them in doing so.
It should be noted that the urban development discussed at City&Tech, while involving concentration rather than decentralization, was a form of “concentration without overcrowding.”A “robot city” teeming with robots; remote work utilizing telepresence, unmanned convenience stores, remote travel experiences, and new transportation networks powered by drones. The creation of new ways to watch sports and experience entertainment through the introduction of massive public viewing screens.
Robots may be in close proximity, but humans are gathered without crowding. Live performances from venues scattered across various locations are combined to create public viewings. The city becomes an office, with people connecting virtually from their homes. The city brings together various industries. Even without everything being concentrated here, it becomes a hub connecting to locations around the world.
It’s both dispersed and concentrated. We’ve been discussing and implementing this approach to urban development.
The team at Tokyu Real Estate is the one that listens to everything I have to say, no matter how freely I speak. Right now, I’m also working with KMD students on community branding and event planning.
