[Event Announcement] 19th Online Symposium: “Digital Archives That Foster Self-Directed Learning”

At this week's Learning of Tomorrow Online Symposium (Wednesday, September 23), we'll hear about the potential of educational content in digital archives.

Digital images of the glass plate negatives (Important Cultural Properties) of the Horyu-ji Kondo murals, taken before the fire—titled “Horyu-ji Kondo Mural Glass Plate Negatives: Digital Viewer”—were made available online in July.Furthermore, in August, “Cultural Japan”—a digital museum bringing together approximately 1 million items, including Japanese artworks, books, and photographs—and “Japan Search,” a website that allows users to conduct consolidated searches of metadata for the diverse content held by Japan, were launched.

We are pleased to welcome Mr. Akihiko Takano (National Institute of Informatics / The University of Tokyo / NPO Renso Publishing), who has been involved in all of these initiatives, to speak on the topic “Digital Archives That Foster Self-Directed Learning.”

Please feel free to join us if you'd like!
