“Yoshimoto Kogyo’s Promise”

I read *Yoshimoto Kogyo’s Promise* by Yoshimoto Chairman Hiroshi Osaki and Nobutaka Tsubota, author of *Biri Gyaru*. When read alongside *Those Who Laugh Sleep Best: The Story of Hiroshi Osaki, President of Yoshimoto Kogyo*, the narrative of Mr. Osaki’s journey to becoming president and his subsequent career comes together.

A brilliant, genius executive who cherishes every aspect of Yoshimoto’s culture over the past 100 years while looking ahead to the next 100 years and toward the world, continuously creating new businesses in a multifaceted way. That’s true, but he doesn’t really come across that way. Mr. Osaki’s charm can’t be captured by such clichéd words, but Mr. Tsubota brings it out brilliantly. Mr. Tsubota is, after all, a genius of a different dimension himself. I’m so happy that the portrayal of Mr. Osaki here is so true to life. It’s amazing how he manages to make the story this entertaining and compelling by portraying Mr. Osaki completely unpretentiously, just as he is in real life.Chairman Osaki, President Okamoto, Mr. Tsubota, the Yoshimoto family, and the Yoshimoto company itself—they all possess such momentum and humor that they seem capable of sweeping the entire planet along with them while laughing. I’ve never seen such a mysterious ecosystem.

Looking back on my life so far, I haven’t really followed a path that would typically lead me to have any connection with Yoshimoto, but I’m grateful for the good fortune of having crossed paths with them. Next, I’d love to read the stories about Mr. Ozaki and Mr. Okamoto. And I’m so happy to have made even a small appearance in such a wonderful book (*^^*)
