- [Event Report] “Cut Class Time in Half with Cubina! The Future of COMPASS”
For today's Learning of Tomorrow Online Lunch Symposium, we invited Mr. Kamino, the founder of COMPASS, to discuss the topic of AI and education.
COMPASS, the developer of Cubina—the world’s first AI-powered educational tool—was founded in Silicon
Valley in 2010. The company has researched learning efficiency and developed “Nano-Step
Learning,” which provides personalized learning tailored to each individual. The goal is to evolve traditional teaching materials into AI-powered ones.
This allows for real-time feedback based on learning history and the ability to adjust difficulty levels accordingly.
The role of teachers is also evolving. AI will handle the teaching, while teachers are expected to focus on motivating students.
Another distinctive feature of COMPASS is that it uses the time saved through efficient learning to implement active learning that leverages cutting-edge technology.By conducting workshops that utilize drones, 3D printers, VR, and other tools, we spark students’ desire to learn and transform that “I want to do this” into “I can do this.” Through the use of AI, we aim to realize both adaptive learning and active learning. That is Mr. Kamino’s vision.
When implementing AI, it’s important to clearly define “what you want to solve with AI”! That’s another crucial perspective you mustn’t overlook.
