- Learning of Tomorrow Event Held: “The Changing Role of Cram Schools and Prep Schools Amid Nationwide School Closures”
This week’s Learning of Tomorrow Online Lunch Symposium features President Inada of atama+. Is there a connection through sports, tennis, and parents?!
atam+ is dedicated to driving educational reform through AI.
They say that these “personalized lessons”—created by AI that analyzes each student’s strengths, weaknesses, areas of growth, areas of difficulty, and concentration levels—are based on a “complete resolution learning” approach, where students start by studying the core concepts underlying their difficulties and move on only after fully understanding them.
The idea is to improve your lifestyle rather than just prescribing painkillers!
What we prioritize is implementing AI-based learning materials alongside teacher coaching. It is said that this combination yields significant results.
The online practice exams conducted with Sundai during the COVID-19 pandemic were highly praised because they could be taken anytime, anywhere, and because participants received not only their results but also detailed feedback immediately—resulting in over 40,000 registrants! That’s amazing.
It was reassuring to hear CEO Inada say that while Japan lags behind the rest of the world in terms of EdTech startups, the quality of its products means it can certainly compete on the global stage.
I really hope you’ll spread your wings and take on the world—and implement educational reforms not just in Japan, but around the globe!
*It’s been a while since I’ve used a nostalgic term like “Spo-Ai Tenipa,” but,
A while back, there was an article in the Nikkei Sangyo Shimbun about how the University of Tokyo Sports Club “Aite Tenipa” is churning out entrepreneurs (an article by Fumika, also from Tenipa♪).
It looked like companies like Visasq, freee, Otobank, and Parksha Technology were listed. And I heard that Neural Pocket went public the day before yesterday.
Most of them are from the previous or following terms, but they're all amazing!!! I look forward to seeing even more great things from them in the future!
