Learning of Tomorrow Hosts “Learn Online Teaching—LoiLo Super School for Teachers”

At the “Learning of Tomorrow” online symposium held this Monday, we heard from Mr. Sugiyama, a director at Roiro Note, Mr. Nonaka, and Mr. Makoto Wada, principal of Roiro Super School.

LoiLo Note, a tool designed to support children’s thinking that has been adopted by 2,000 elementary, middle, and high schools, as well as universities and cram schools, undertook various initiatives to help children continue their learning during the school closures.

First, we will launch “LoiLo Meta School,” an online school created by a group of dedicated teachers from across the country that allows students to take classes beyond the boundaries of their grade level and school. We had been discussing the possibility of creating a “Meta School” where videos—produced through collaboration among schools, local governments, and companies nationwide—could be shared by textbook, grade level, and unit. When Mr. Sugiyama posted about Roiro Super School, we reacted immediately and have been keeping a close eye on it ever since (*^^*) It’s amazing that they made this a reality through collaboration among teachers who transcended school boundaries!

What’s even more impressive is that we shared the know-how we gained from conducting online classes through Roiro Super School with teachers nationwide. We launched “Roiro Super School for Teachers” to teach approximately 1,800 teachers the ins and outs of online instruction. Furthermore, through a collaborative effort with 160 teachers from across the country, we even built a special website dedicated to online teaching know-how.

While the enthusiasm of teachers across the country and LoiLo—which serves as a gathering place for them—are both wonderful, I believe this collaborative effort was made possible by the relationships of trust that have been built up over a long period of time.
