Online Workshop Collection

Our first-ever online workshop collection. Nearly 100 online workshops were all gathered in one place.
Online, you can do crafts, compose music, dance, conduct science experiments, and program.
Even on a rainy day like today, you won’t get wet, and unlike at an in-person workshop collection, you don’t have to wait in line for hours—as long as you’re sitting in front of your computer, you can try anything right away.
Workshops were featured from all over the country—Kagoshima, Kyoto, Shizuoka, Sendai…—which is something only an online event could make possible.
It’s hard to tell where the kids are joining from anymore. I wonder if the child who contacted us wanting to participate from overseas was able to join successfully?
Peeking into each online workshop room, I was warmed by the sight of some families participating together, with the screen likely projected onto a TV for the whole family to enjoy.
This time, we set up the process so that participants had to go through online check-in first before entering the breakout rooms for each workshop, which made the check-in process quite demanding. However, when I tried the online check-in myself to get a feel for what the participants were experiencing,
I realized it was great—hearing the “Have a great time!” greeting at the exact moment the room switched online gave me the sensation of entering an amusement park ride.
There are many areas for improvement regarding the design of the online workshops and the overall operation, but we plan to hold a debriefing session soon to apply what we’ve learned to the next event.
The previous event was “Workshop Collection Online,
” which streamed the “Real Workshop Collection” online. This time, it was the “Online Workshop Collection,” featuring online workshops from participants across the country. It was a new challenge as we explored what online workshops can be.
In any case, it was a delightful surprise that we gathered 100 online workshops right from the very first event.
Thank you very much to all the participants and exhibitors!
