- Mobility Transformation Consortium Steering Committee
Yesterday morning, I attended a meeting of the Mobility Transformation Consortium Steering Committee. We discussed what cities will look like in the post-COVID era, focusing primarily on the future of “mobility.”I apologize for not “traveling” to the meeting in person—even though it’s a forum led by JR East—and instead participating online ^^;
While I believe JR has been working to diversify its in-person venues up until now, as a company that once published “Railway Communications,” I hope they will go forward to propose diverse forms of mobility that leverage telecommunications, as well as new ways of designing spaces for the “new normal.” That’s the kind of discussion I had.I believe the demonstration projects
this consortium has been promoting—such as congestion relief and the use of robots—will be of great help in designing post-pandemic cities, so I look forward to seeing even greater progress.
