- [Press Release] Regarding the Establishment of the “Interacademic Esports Education”
The Learning of Tomorrow Association and the Japan e-Sports Union (JeSU) have partnered to establish the "Interacademic Esports Education."
We will form a community of universities, vocational schools, and elementary, junior high, and high schools interested in esports, invite experts to participate, and engage in activities such as developing joint curricula and conducting research.
"Interacademic Esports Education Meta School." We will build a community that transcends the boundaries of individual schools and work to develop joint curricula, grant certificates of completion, conduct research on educational effectiveness, and implement initiatives to revitalize club activities. Experts from the esports industry will participate as fellows.
The report from the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) and JeSU’s “Esports Promotion Study Group” identifies “exploring the educational value of esports and gathering evidence to support it” as a future challenge and recommends collaboration and cooperation among educators, researchers, and others. The Interacademic Esports Education Meta School is an initiative launched in response to this report.
The event is organized by the Learning of Tomorrow Association and the Japan e-Sports Union (JeSU). The CiP Council and JeSU regional chapters are collaborating, while the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and the Secretariat for the Promotion of Intellectual Property Strategy under the Cabinet Office are participating as observers.
The schools initially participating are iU, Keio University KMD Research Institute, Code Academy High School, Sapporo Shinyo High School, Sendai Ikuei High School, Chuo University’s Okajima Lab, Digital Hollywood University, Japan Electronics College, Musashino University Chiyoda High School, Renaissance High School, and Waseda University’s Institute for Sports Business.
