Online Discussion on the Post-COVID Era

Last night, I joined Professor Junichi Rekimoto from the University of Tokyo, Gilia President Ryo Shimizu, and Sam—a former KMD professor and former Microsoft president—for what was supposed to be a gathering to watch the Gilia Channel signage feature starring Professor Rekimoto and Mr. Shimizu… but turned out to be an online discussion about the post-COVID era (or so I think?).
I heard a lot from Professor Rekimoto about the University of Tokyo’s response to the pandemic. He mentioned that this was the first time the faculty meeting had been held online, and that student satisfaction is actually higher with online classes. Through my own lectures at KMD, I also feel that online classes allow me to better realize what I want to achieve. Of course, real-world projects outside of class are a different story. So, it’s time for the online faculty meeting now!
By the way, last night I joined the meeting in my pajamas starting around 11:00 PM. Being able to do that is one of the great conveniences of going online!
