- Lecture by Yasuhiko Tanikawa, Deputy Director-General for General Affairs: “Toward the Realization of a Data-Driven Society”
KMD Policy Class. Today’s sessions were held back-to-back during the first and second periods.
During the first period, we did an icebreaker group activity using breakout rooms and Slack,
while the second period featured a lecture by Yasuhiko Tanawaki, Director-General of the General Affairs Bureau and a Specially Appointed Professor at KMD, titled “Toward the Realization of a Data-Driven Society.”
Topics included: What is a data-driven society? 5G and Beyond 5G strategies; establishing new rules in cyberspace; the impact of COVID-19;
and trust in cyberspace. A total of 70 questions were raised, and I felt the class was even more engaging than an in-person session.
Of course, this was largely because Mr. Tanawaki discussed these important and timely topics in a very easy-to-understand way, making the session truly stimulating.
