NHK Central Program Council Holds Online Meeting

Today's NHK Central Program Council meeting was also held online.
Since it was a rare opportunity, I asked some questions and made a request regarding the response to the coronavirus.

First, a few questions!
How are you handling drama production? How are you handling interviews? I’ve heard that studios aren’t available—how are you going to handle that? How are you planning the Olympic and Paralympic programming slots?
Did I ask too many questions?! But I received thoughtful answers from three different people, which really helped me understand the situation. Thank you very much ^^

And here’s a request!
I really hope NHK will take the lead in showing us what the future of broadcasting looks like in the post-COVID era!
Both NHK and other networks are switching to remote participation by hosts and commentators. I’d like them to share their know-how—including the pros and cons—on this.
I look forward to seeing NHK Technical Research Laboratories utilize its technology to propose new approaches to program production—such as remotely projecting virtual imagery.

    After graduating from the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Tokyo, he served as a visiting researcher at the MIT Media Lab before founding the NPO CANVAS and the Learning of Tomorrow Association, a General Incorporated Association, and assuming the role of representative. He serves as an outside director for Matsuya Co., Ltd., Fuji Media Holdings, Inc., and Digital Garage, Inc.
    He has served on various government committees, including the Information and Communications Council of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, as well as the NHK Central Broadcasting Program Council. He also serves as a director of the Digital Signage Consortium, among other roles. He holds a Ph.D. in Policy and Media.
    His publications include *Turning On Children’s Creativity!*, *What Are Smart Kids Doing on Their Smartphones?*, *The Forefront of Online Education in Japan: Considering Learning in the Post-COVID Era*,“What Is Programming Education? 45 Questions Parents Want to Know,” and “Declaration on Digital Education.” He has also provided supervision for numerous works, including “Ah, I See! Programming Education for Parents and Children Through Manga.”
