NHK’s Special Programming Schedule Due to School Closures

NHK has put together a special lineup of content for students studying from home, primarily on E-Tele, as well as on General TV, satellite channels, radio, and the internet. Great job! Thanks so much for the quick response!!!

・E-Tele continues to air school broadcast programs and high school courses even during school closures to support home learning.
・NHK for School features a selection of content organized by grade level, allowing students to study at home—particularly those units they haven’t covered yet. It also includes features that let children submit their reflections.
・E-Tele is utilizing its subchannels to expand its lineup of children’s programming.
・Programs are also available via “NHK Plus,
” which offers live and on-demand streaming. ・“Asa Ichi” features exercises to combat a lack of physical activity.
・We plan to schedule programming aimed at elementary, middle, and high school students, including an encore broadcast of the NHK Special “The Super World of Dinosaurs.”
・On NHK General TV, we will air a special program titled “Everyone’s Graduation Ceremony (tentative title),” centered on artists performing graduation songs. We will collect messages about graduation via Twitter and other platforms to convey the spirit of “Everyone’s Graduation Ceremony.”

・On BS1, we will rebroadcast “Miracle Lessons,” a program parents and children can watch together, and air a marathon of “Ani × Para,” an animated series showcasing the appeal of Paralympic sports. ・On
BS Premium, we will provide natural science and history content to help middle and high school students improve their general knowledge while schools are closed.
・BS4K will air a special program titled “Okaasan to Issho Family Concert.”
・Radio 1 will feature songs that elementary and junior high school students can enjoy on “Gogo Cafe: Kids Special.”
・NHK Plus has compiled a list of programs related to the novel coronavirus, as well as programs that children can use to learn and have fun at home. These are available for viewing anytime.
