Thank you very much for participating in yesterday’s symposium commemorating the enactment of the “Act on the Promotion of Information and Communications Technology in Education”!
Mr. Toshiaki Endo, Chair of the Bipartisan Parliamentary League on Education ICT; Mr. Masaharu Nakagawa, Acting Chair; Mr. Masahito Moriyama, Secretary-General; Mr. Michihiro Ishibashi, Executive Director; Mr. Takaya, Section Chief at the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT);Mr. Asano, Section Chief at the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI); Mr. Yoshida, Section Chief at the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC); Mr. Yasuhisa Koide, Representative of Google; Mr. Kamino, CEO of COMPASS; Mr. Morishita, Department Manager at Mitsumura Publishing; Mr. Ohtomi, Division Manager at Amazon Web Services; and Mr. Yokoo, Mayor of Taku City, all took the stage.
Can Japan—a country lagging behind in educational digitization—become a leading nation through this law? Can we establish a world-class educational environment in the age of AI?
The discussion, held over drinks, was extremely lively.
Since I served as the moderator for both Part 1 and Part 2 and was unable to take notes, I will provide a detailed report at a later date, but for now, I would just like to express my gratitude.
The photo doesn’t quite capture everyone looking at the camera, but here it is for now.
