Tokyo Robot Collection @ Takeshiba Summer Festival!
A huge gathering of robots, including security robots, cooking robots, beer-serving robots, and more.
Two robots made their debut.
First up is “poimo (Portable and Inflatable Mobility).”
A personal mobility device developed by the Kawahara and Niiyama Laboratories at the University of Tokyo in collaboration with Mercari. When inflated, it becomes an electric vehicle. It looks like a “Poipoika Capsule” from Dragon Ball. What’s more, it supports wireless charging. Isn’t it convenient to be able to charge it just by driving around?
I got to be the first person to “drive” poimo!
In 2020, it’s supposed to be zipping around the streets of Takeshiba!!!

The other one is “apfel.min (Apfel).”
It’s a mini kitchen—about 3 tsubo in size—themed after an apple, along with a follow-me robot that delivers cider from it.It’s a bright red, small robot that follows the server as she delivers cider. With the push of a button, it recognizes people and keeps following them indefinitely. It’s cute—it looks just like a family of mandarin ducks.
A masterpiece planned and led by Mr. Shinohara from Aisin Seiki, a member of City&Tech!

There’s also the “Hot Snack Robot,” which retrieves ingredients for fried chicken from the freezer, cooks them, and places them in a warming cabinet. The robot handles everything—from opening the door, retrieving the fried chicken skewers from the warming cabinet, and handing them to customers, all the way to closing the door.

There’s also the “OctoChef” takoyaki robot, which adds ingredients, spins the batter, cooks the takoyaki, and places them in a container, as well as the “Beer Serving Robot,” which takes a cup, pours beer when you press a button, and hands it to the customer.

In July 2020, we plan to hold an event showcasing an even more expanded version of City&Tech;.
Stay tuned~♪
