The 4th JR Tower Children’s Science Exhibition 2019

We’re hosting a STEAM hands-on exhibition and workshop at Sapporo Station.
Now in its fourth year, the “Children’s Science Exhibition: The Institute for Play and Learning” is held annually under the theme, “Let’s learn the secrets of the technology around us through hands-on creation!”

Try your hand at programming with Ozobot, a small robot that navigates mazes using command cards.

Create stop-motion animations by selecting backgrounds and characters.

Enjoy Digital Ehon—see, hear, and touch!

Make glowing cards with AigiC, which lets you draw electronic circuits with a pen.

Create plants and animals with screw blocks. Bolts become nuts, and nuts become legs. I wonder what kind of creatures the screws will transform into?

Straw art. Connect straws to build large sculptures. How can you keep them from falling over? How can you make them bigger? Get your hands moving and think about the structure through trial and error.

It’s a huge hit even though it’s right next to the station. Why not try it at other stations too?
Conversations between parents and children. “It’s time for the train!” “I want to play a little longer!” Sorry, Mom! Be careful not to miss your train!
Please come take a peek at the future of play and learning!
