- Gathering to Celebrate the Introduction of the Bill
Yesterday, we held a “Gathering to Celebrate the Launch of the Bill,” which also served as a virtual summer get-together.
The “Bill to Promote the Digitalization of Education,” proposed by the Cross-Party Education CIT Parliamentary League, was passed by the House of Representatives. Is its enactment in the House of Councillors imminent?!
We received remarks from Hiroshi Komiyama, President of the Learning of Tomorrow Association; Toshiaki Endo, Chair of the Parliamentary League; Michihiro Ishibashi, Secretary-General; Akira Sato, Secretary; Shinpei Matsushita, Secretary; Takashi Takai, Secretary; former Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology Kizaburo Watari; former Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology Tatsu Shiotani; and Kentaro Asahi, a member of the House of Councillors.
We received powerful words of encouragement from the teachers, who vowed, “We will definitely get this bill passed!” and the event—held on a slightly chilly day to beat the summer heat—was filled with enthusiasm (*^^*)
Thank you to everyone who participated.
The photo shows me with Assembly Members Endo, Ishibashi, and Takai from the Parliamentary League, as well as expert members Professor Kageyama and Professor Nakamura.
Another photo shows me with Hiroshi Komiyama, former President of the University of Tokyo, who has always been so supportive, and Professor Yuki Aoyama. Apparently, Professor Komiyama and Professor Aoyama were classmates at the University of Tokyo.
