[Report] A Museum Just for Kids at Galaxy City in Adachi Ward

The “Museum Just for Kids” is a little different from other kids’ creative workshops.
We provide about 70 different types of materials, various tools, and two hours of free time. It’s entirely up to the children to decide how to use the materials, tools, and time. They think things through carefully and try making something. After creating something, they reflect on it again. While experimenting with all sorts of ideas, they keep creating for the full two hours.
We moved the venue from Soddaco in Daikanyama to GalaxCity in Adachi Ward, where the first museum event was held.
Here’s a look at some of the creations that emerged.
　
—A Wonderful, Mysterious Spaceship—
The materials chosen were paper cups and straws.
What wonderful things are packed inside this little spaceship?
Is there a mechanism that makes water come out of the straw!?
And on the construction paper, there are lots of numbers and coded letters!?
Where will we go and what will we encounter aboard this spaceship!?

He serves as an outside director for Matsuya Co., Ltd., Fuji Media Holdings, Inc., and Digital Garage, Inc.
    He has served on various government committees, including the Information and Communications Council of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, as well as the NHK Central Broadcasting Program Council. He also serves as a director of the Digital Signage Consortium, among other roles. He holds a Ph.D. in Policy and Media.
    His publications include *Turning On Children’s Creativity!*, *What Are Smart Kids Doing on Their Smartphones?*, *The Forefront of Online Education in Japan: Considering Learning in the Post-COVID Era*,“What Is Programming Education? 45 Questions Parents Want to Know,” and “Declaration on Digital Education.” He has also provided supervision for numerous works, including “Ah, I See! Programming Education for Parents and Children Through Manga.”
