“Kids-Only Museum” at GalaxCity—Registration Now Open!

[“Museum Just for Kids” at Galaxy City—Registration Now Open!]
“Kids-Only Museum” is a little different from other kids’ creative workshops.
We provide about 70 types of materials, various tools, and two hours of time.

Whether it’s the materials, the tools, or the time—how they’re used is entirely up to each participating child.
Think it through carefully, then give it a try. Create something, then think about it some more.
Let’s have a wonderful time while trying out all sorts of things.
　
The 2019 fiscal year begins next month.
The “Museum Just for Kids” will kick off at Galax City in Adachi Ward!

*What is the Kids Creative Institute?
It is a workshop series organized by CANVAS, which aims to create hubs for children’s play and learning—places where “feeling, thinking, creating, and communicating” flourish.
The workshops are held in a variety of spaces throughout the city, including educational institutions such as universities and offices.
We’re spreading children’s play and learning throughout the city.

*What is Galaxy City?
Galaxy City is an exciting and thrilling place that greatly nurtures children’s curiosity.
Located in Adachi Ward, it features one of Japan’s largest indoor net play structures, a planetarium, and a bouldering wall.
Since almost everything except the planetarium is free to experience, playing to your heart’s content at GalaxCity before or after the workshop is sure to be part of the fun.

    After graduating from the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Tokyo, he served as a visiting researcher at the MIT Media Lab before founding the NPO CANVAS and the Learning of Tomorrow Association, a General Incorporated Association, and assuming the role of representative. He serves as an outside director for Matsuya Co., Ltd., Fuji Media Holdings, Inc., and Digital Garage, Inc.
    He has served on various government committees, including the Information and Communications Council of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, as well as the NHK Central Broadcasting Program Council. He also serves as a director of the Digital Signage Consortium, among other roles. He holds a Ph.D. in Policy and Media.
    His publications include *Turning On Children’s Creativity!*, *What Are Smart Kids Doing on Their Smartphones?*, *The Forefront of Online Education in Japan: Considering Learning in the Post-COVID Era*,“What Is Programming Education? 45 Questions Parents Want to Know,” and “Declaration on Digital Education.” He has also provided supervision for numerous works, including “Ah, I See! Programming Education for Parents and Children Through Manga.”
