The City&Tech; Committee was launched with the goal of creating a city that integrates cutting-edge technologies in time for the 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games,
and showcasing it to the world.
At the second meeting, presentations were given on a massive live-viewing event by the Advanced Video Distribution Organization,
IoT broadcasting by the IPDC Forum, and SoftBank’s 5G plans.
What made these particularly interesting was that they weren’t just presentations, but concrete proposals for implementation.
Implementation, not experimentation. Centralization, not decentralization.
We’ve received more concrete proposals than anticipated, and the details are already taking shape.
Based on the items below, we plan to refine the details further and expand our scope.
1 Smart Mobility (Autonomous Driving)
2 Robot Applications (Tele-Eag and others)
3 Wireless Power Transmission
4 Public Viewing Event;“`
5 Digital Signage (Disaster Prevention)
6 Drones (Uminote Line)
7 Citywide Digital Art
8 Data Distribution Platform
The 1936 Berlin Olympics, broadcast worldwide via radio.
The 1964 Tokyo Olympics, the first in the world to be broadcast on television.
The 2012 London Olympics, where every event was streamed online.
The 2020 Tokyo Games will serve as a showcase for all the major technological advancements that follow.
What will we demonstrate there? And how will we connect that to the 2025 Osaka Games?
I would like to continue discussing these topics.
