Staff members at the Hikifune Library in Sumida Ward held a workshop for children with disabilities! As part of the “STEM Education Project (*),” CANVAS provides the curriculum and lends out equipment.
The Hikifune Library has many books that can be enjoyed in various ways.
Tactile picture books offer a variety of textures to explore.
Fluffy, rough, sticky…
The Marichi Media DAISY reads picture books aloud when loaded onto a computer.
After enjoying all the different books, the children learned about Halloween through picture books.
Jack-o’-lanterns!
Ghosts… and zombies!
There are witches, too~
I wonder if there are any devils, too?
We let our imaginations run wild.
Finally, we used the Biscuit app to draw the mysterious world of Halloween.
We drew zombies, ghosts, candy, and pumpkins,
made giant glasses and challenged ourselves to see how fast we could draw,
and got creative with patterns,
It turned out to be a very lively Halloween.
The staff also plans to hold another workshop in February.
