- “Computer Science for ALL” Platform Media
We have relaunched “Computer Science for ALL,” a media platform for programming education that had been on hiatus for about a year.
Currently, the site features 84 articles introducing classroom workshops, 78 articles highlighting initiatives by schools, local governments, and organizations, and 40 articles on teaching materials; we plan to upload an additional 30 articles in May.
Additionally, as the first installment of our resumed interview series, we spoke with Mr. Nobuaki Sawa of the Kashiwa City Board of Education in Chiba Prefecture—which began offering programming education at all elementary schools in the city starting in the 2017 school year—about the situation in Kashiwa City.
I believe the three key factors behind their success were: establishing a fixed two-hour block for the subject and developing teaching materials accordingly; the presence of ICT support staff; and diverse partnerships with external organizations.
