- General Meeting of the Bipartisan Parliamentary League on ICT in Education
This morning was the general meeting of the Bipartisan Parliamentary League on Education ICT.
The meeting included reports on the “Bill to Promote the Digitalization of School Education” drafted by the league and the “Amendments to the School Education Act, etc.” submitted by the government, as well as explanations of the budget proposals related to the digitalization of education from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) and the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC).
Chairman Toshiaki Endo singled me out, saying, “You look like you have something to say.” While I don’t think I looked like I had anything to say at all, I gratefully took the opportunity to report on the Learning of Tomorrow Association—along with the recent DiTT Symposium and the DiTT Appeal—to Diet members from both the ruling and opposition parties, including Deputy Minister of Justice Moriyama and former Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications Haraguchi.
While we look forward to the early passage and smooth implementation of the government’s bills, as well as the submission to and passage of the Promotion Act by the Diet, we intend to provide as much support and assistance as possible from the private sector, and Learning of Tomorrow will continue to promote these efforts as part of its activities.
I am committed to doing my utmost to build a stronger driving force for this initiative from the private sector, and I ask for your continued support and cooperation.
