The results of the “Survey on Information Education” have been released

The Software Association of Japan, a general incorporated association that organizes the U-22 Programming Contest—in which I serve as a judge—is conducting a survey on the current status and challenges regarding the use of ICT equipment in schools, in preparation for the mandatory introduction of programming education in elementary schools starting in 2020.
Teachers and staff on the ground have cited “a shortage of ICT equipment and network infrastructure” as the biggest challenge to the widespread adoption of programming education, making the improvement of these environments an urgent priority.
