- Announcement of the Symposium “Toward the Smooth Utilization of Copyrighted Works” — Presentation of the DiTT Copyright WG Interim Report — to Be Held on September 15, 2017

In conjunction with the release of the DiTT Copyright Working Group’s interim report,
we will be holding a copyright symposium in September.
At the end of last year, we launched the DiTT Copyright Working Group, and we have recently
compiled an interim report. We will hold a panel discussion addressing issues related to
copyright—including the balance with the Copyright Act
regarding the protection of rights and the smooth use of digitalized
textbooks and teaching materials, as well as the perspectives of rights holders and the characteristics of users in educational settings, such as creators of teaching materials and educational institutions like
schools—and explore solutions to these challenges and
future prospects.
As the digitization of information continues to advance, this has become a topic of growing interest for everyone—even those not directly involved in copyright management—
as a fundamental aspect of digital literacy.
We look forward to your participation.
