[Report] After-School Creative Project

From a CANVAS Facebook post

To enrich the after-school experiences of many children, we conduct workshops at after-school facilities designed to nurture their creativity and imagination.

On June 17, we held the “10,000 Paper Cups” event at the Sayama City Central Children’s Center.
This program was provided by the Fukasawa Art Institute.

Using lots of paper cups, they move their bodies as they stack, line up, and pile them up…
creating their own shapes.

A wide variety of shapes had been created, ranging from concrete objects—such as gardens, swimming pools, and castles with windows—to abstract ones.

As I walked through a world made of paper cups, I heard a voice say, “Here you go. It’s juice.”
When I looked in
the direction of the voice, I saw a small hand reaching out from a window, holding out a paper cup toward me. Laughter also echoed from beyond the
towering walls.

It was a wonderful time watching the familiar scenery inside the room change thanks to everyone’s efforts.
