It’s almost that time of year again—kindergarten and elementary school graduation ceremonies.
Spring motifs are starting to sneak their way into the projects created by our little programmers.

Our "
Little Programmers" program, which we've been holding once a month, will mark its one-year anniversary next month.
・To make it easier for more children in Adachi Ward to participate ・To promote programming education starting with
preschoolers (broadening the base)
・To serve as a hub for programming education in Adachi Ward (with a view to offering outreach classes within the ward)
We have been implementing this program with these three main objectives in mind.
Our next event is on Friday, March 31—
and this time
, we’re holding “Galaxy City on the Road at the Toneri Community Learning Center”
!
We’re hosting this as the first step toward achieving our third goal!

*“Computer Science for ALL” is a
programming education platform launched
last year that aggregates best practices and teaching materials from across Japan.
This workshop is being held as part of a STEM education project by Salesforce.org and the NPO CANVAS.

After graduating from the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Tokyo, he served as a visiting researcher at the MIT Media Lab before founding the NPO CANVAS and the Learning of Tomorrow Association, a General Incorporated Association, and assuming the role of representative. He serves as an outside director for Matsuya Co., Ltd., Fuji Media Holdings, Inc., and Digital Garage, Inc.
He has served on various government committees, including the Information and Communications Council of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, as well as the NHK Central Broadcasting Program Council. He also serves as a director of the Digital Signage Consortium, among other roles. He holds a Ph.D. in Policy and Media.
His publications include *Turning On Children’s Creativity!*, *What Are Smart Kids Doing on Their Smartphones?*, *The Forefront of Online Education in Japan: Considering Learning in the Post-COVID Era*,“What Is Programming Education? 45 Questions Parents Want to Know,” and “Declaration on Digital Education.” He has also provided supervision for numerous works, including “Ah, I See! Programming Education for Parents and Children Through Manga.”
