“Cubetto,” a British-made educational programming toy

"Cubetto," a British-born educational programming toy suitable for children ages 3 and up, has arrived in Japan.
Cubetto raised $1.6 million—the highest amount ever raised in crowdfunding history for an EdTech project—and has spread to more than 90 countries worldwide, winning numerous international awards. We sat down for an interview with Filippo, CEO and founder of Primo Toys, the company behind
Cubetto. With Cubetto, children can control a wooden robot by placing colorful blocks into
wooden panels.
In the UK, programming education is already mandatory starting in elementary school, and Cubetto appears to have been adopted in many school classrooms. It is reportedly being used in conjunction with subjects such as
math and social studies.
This seems like a model worth emulating in Japan as well.
