[After-School Creative Project]
To enrich the after-school experiences of as many children as possible,
we conduct workshops at after-school facilities designed to nurture children’s creativity and imagination.
On August 25, we held a “Singing Microphone” event at an after-school club in Shibuya Ward.

How does sound work?
How does the sound change when you switch the sound source?
We explored the nature of “sound” through comparative experiments using several types of phones and by building a “singing voice microphone” that transmits sound via a spring.
After completing the microphone body, we decorated it.
We used masking tape to add names and patterns, and participants drew illustrations with pens—not just on the outside, but on the inside as well. Some participants even came up with themes, such as the Warring States period, and turned them into drawings.
Everyone paid close attention to the details, resulting in one-of-a-kind microphones brimming with individuality.
In the end, everyone’s powerful, summer-filled voices echoed throughout the venue through the microphones.
These “singing microphones” are a little bit magical—they let you discover new things about sound and broadcast your energy!
