The MIRAI SUMMER CAMP at Roppongi Hills has come to an end!
The workshop used the “Surprise House” segment from NHK’s “Why Programming” as teaching material and
incorporated MakeyMakey.
Participants turned clay and paper cups into switches and customized the on-screen animations,
resulting in a variety of original “Surprise Houses.”
Today, Miyajima-kun, the representative of Coderdojo Kashiwa, also helped out with the workshop.
Miyajima-kun,
who has been familiar with programming since he was in elementary school—just like the participants—has experienced the joy and possibilities of creating things. At the end, he also shared a message with the participants about what lies ahead!
With a message from Professor Resnick, the creator of Scratch,
and
appearances from Mr. Abe and program director Mr. Hayashi via video link from the U.S., it was an event packed with highlights!
