[July 8: Tokyo Metropolitan Shakujii Special Needs School Class Report #1]
On July 8, two classes were held at the Tokyo Metropolitan Shakujii Special Needs School
: one using LEGO WeDo 2.0 and the other using Biscuit.
Continuing from July 7, the Biscuit class was taught by Dr. Harada,
the developer, and the rest of the Biscuit team!
On the 8th, together with the first-year middle school students, we used Biscuit to draw sea creatures and creatures in the
grass, creating a vast ocean and grassland.

To help the children visualize the ocean, we watched a video together about the creatures that live
there before we started making the cookies. After watching the
video, we tried our hand at bringing our cookie designs to life!
Everyone’s creativity really took off, and creatures of all shapes and patterns came to life.

When we turned off all the lights in the room and projected
the images onto the ceiling, it felt as if we were in the middle of the ocean or a meadow, and we were all able to fully enjoy the presentation together.

Some children experimented with movement, while others were completely absorbed in creating their artwork.
Although it was quite difficult for some to concentrate on the day of the event,
seeing the frogs their friends had drawn helped them calm down.
As they looked at the artwork depicting vast oceans and grasslands, the teachers had plenty to say about how each student had approached their work.

We plan to hold classes next week as well! We'll be trying out some slightly more complex moves.
