Opening Party for “Yuichi Kimura: Trial and Error Exhibition” at amu

The opening party for Yuichi Kimura’s “Trial and Error” art exhibition at amu, which kicked off today.
Many of you may know Yuichi Kimura from his best-selling “Baby’s Play Picture Book” series
—which has sold
over 10 million copies in total—and his book *A Stormy Night*.

He was originally supposed to create 40 new pieces for this exhibition, but…
in fact, he ended up creating 80 works—twice the original number!!!
On top of that, there will be ceramic and calligraphy pieces making their debut!

Thanks to Mr. Kimura’s influence,
the opening party was attended by Yutaka Hara, author of *Kaiketsu Zorori*; Nobumi, author of *Mom Turned Into a Ghost*;
Yoshiwo Nakae, author of *Nezumi-kun’s Vest*; Koji Ishikawa,
author of *All Kinds of Animals Play Hide-and-Seek*; Kenji Morita, author of *Marude Dameo*; actor Katsunori Takahashi;
the Mayor of Meguro Ward, the Chairman of Poplar Publishing, the President of Kaiseisha, and many others—a total of 200 people—graced the occasion with their presence.

The photo shows Mr. Kimura and Mr. Hara from “Zorori”♪ Plus
, I got to hear live versions of Heidi and Korosuke from
voice actress Kazuko Sugiyama—best known for voicing those characters in the “Try” tutoring service commercials—
so I headed home feeling like I’d gotten a real treat. So, please come on by starting tomorrow!
