NPO “School of Science” Program: “Raspberry Pi Workshop”

We received information about a summer camp from Mr. Minagawa of the Shibata Science and Technology Education Network, a PEG partner!
This three-day program challenges participants to build robots that help people using Raspberry Pi! Participants will not only control
motors but also install surveillance cameras.
They’ll learn Python programming so they can use the iPhones and Android smartphones they’re already familiar with as remote controls.
Participants can take their RasPi Cars home, so they can continue working on them even after the workshop ends. We’re excited to see what kinds of RasPi Car ideas will emerge as they control the
cameras and motors!

平成28年度NPO法人「科学の学校」事業「Raspberry Pi活用講座」を新発田市共同募金会の支援を受けて
下記のように実施することになりました。少人数講座ですので、早めの応募をお願い致します。

１　Raspberry Pi活用講座
　◯　名刺大の小型コンピュータ(Raspberry Pi)を使って、人の役にたつロボットを作成する講座です。
　◯　タミヤのモーターセットとユニバーサルプレートで車体を作り、そこにサーボモータで制御する
　　　監視用カメラとRaspberry Piを搭載したロボットを製作します。
　◯　このロボットは、iPhoneやAndroidのスマートフォンをリモコン代わりに使って制御します。
　　　この制御プログラムは、Pythonという言語等を使って作成します。
　　　小学生にとって難しい制御プログラムはデモプログラムを使います。

４　会場　　　　新発田市生涯学習センター
５　参加費　　　　3,000円
　　(作成したロボット(12,000円相当)は持ち帰り可)
６　定員　　　　　８名（参加対象者　小・中・高校生）
７　持ち物
　　・　スマートフォン(iPad,iPodやAndroidデバイスも可)
　　・　ノート、鉛筆等

写真は、昨年の講座で作成したものです。今年度は、さらにパワーアップして２モーターの車体に
カメラを付けたロボットを作成します。

    After graduating from the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Tokyo, he served as a visiting researcher at the MIT Media Lab before founding the NPO CANVAS and the Learning of Tomorrow Association, a General Incorporated Association, and assuming the role of representative. He serves as an outside director for Matsuya Co., Ltd., Fuji Media Holdings, Inc., and Digital Garage, Inc.
    He has served on various government committees, including the Information and Communications Council of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, as well as the NHK Central Broadcasting Program Council. He also serves as a director of the Digital Signage Consortium, among other roles. He holds a Ph.D. in Policy and Media.
    His publications include *Turning On Children’s Creativity!*, *What Are Smart Kids Doing on Their Smartphones?*, *The Forefront of Online Education in Japan: Considering Learning in the Post-COVID Era*,“What Is Programming Education? 45 Questions Parents Want to Know,” and “Declaration on Digital Education.” He has also provided supervision for numerous works, including “Ah, I See! Programming Education for Parents and Children Through Manga.”
