We have co-developed the Japanese version of the Philippine children’s Digital Ehon app “A Day In The Market” (original title: A Day In The Market)—winner of the 4th Digital Ehon Award’s Special Jury Prize (Koji Ishikawa Award)—in collaboration with Adarna House, and have begun offering it to users in Japan!We hope you’ll enjoy “A Day in the Market,” which packs the fun-filled world of the Philippines into a single Digital Ehon!

I first encountered “A Day In The Market” at the judging panel for the Digital Ehon Awards 2015 and was deeply impressed by it. Above all, I thought the illustrations—with their soft lines and warm colors—were wonderful. I also sensed a high level of artistic sensibility in the way the images were animated so naturally.
In scenes like the swaying interior of a shared bus or the bustling market, you can truly feel the vibrancy, atmosphere, and even the smells of the tropical Philippines. Overall, while maintaining the atmosphere of a beautiful picture book, it incorporates interactive elements through sound and movement, making it perfect for parents and children to enjoy together at a leisurely pace.
I’m very happy that the Japanese version of *A Day In The Market* has been released. I hope you’ll all enjoy it too.

He serves as an outside director for Matsuya Co., Ltd., Fuji Media Holdings, Inc., and Digital Garage, Inc.
He has served on various government committees, including the Information and Communications Council of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, as well as the NHK Central Broadcasting Program Council. He also serves as a director of the Digital Signage Consortium, among other roles. He holds a Ph.D. in Policy and Media.
His publications include *Turning On Children’s Creativity!*, *What Are Smart Kids Doing on Their Smartphones?*, *The Forefront of Online Education in Japan: Considering Learning in the Post-COVID Era*,“What Is Programming Education? 45 Questions Parents Want to Know,” and “Declaration on Digital Education.” He has also provided supervision for numerous works, including “Ah, I See!
