<Yokosuka City's Programming Experience Classes Kick Off Again This Year!>

Today was the day for the programming workshop in Yokosuka City,
an initiative in which PEG is also participating. Led primarily by professors and students from local universities, as well as city employees, this program holds workshops using Raspberry Pi and Scratch once a month, with two sessions—one in the morning and one in the afternoon.

It’s been more than half a year since we launched in June, and it remains so popular that all 20 spots fill up within 45 seconds of registration opening!
Until now, we’ve offered the “Neko-Nige” program as a beginner’s course, but starting in November, we’re also offering an afternoon class as an intermediate course for those with prior “Neko-Nige” experience, featuring more advanced content.

And the topic for this afternoon's class was a shooting game.
The children created the game using blocks—such as coordinates and random numbers—that were still unfamiliar to them today.

This year's initiative is almost over. It's garnering more and more attention from the local community.
We'll continue to report on this initiative!

Next up, as part of this initiative, we plan to hold a “Parent-Child Programming Experience!” at the “Manabikan Festival” on Saturday, January 30, at the Manabikan venue!
