[Report] Fukasawa Art Institute Workshop Talk

From a CANVAS Facebook post

*******************************************

Yesterday, we held the “Fukasawa Art Laboratory Workshop Talk” at the CANVAS office.
We took this opportunity to reflect on our past activities with Mr. Yamazoe—who has provided us with countless “art and design” workshop programs for over 10 years and has collaborated with us on various projects across the country—and to take a fresh look at what “workshops” mean.
Workshops themselves usually last anywhere from a few tens of minutes to a few hours.

However, they are created with great care and thought—from the initial planning and preparation of materials and spaces to considering the children’s feelings and the time they’ll have “after it’s over.” This event provided a valuable opportunity to listen closely to the perspective of a workshop creator—a viewpoint we rarely get to hear.
On display at the venue were four-panel comics to be distributed after the workshop, as well as large posters summarizing Mr. Yamazoe’s activities.
It was an opportunity to showcase the initiatives of the Fukasawa Art Institute and CANVAS from various angles.
A detailed report will be published in CANVAS Magazine at a later date! Stay tuned!
