CANVAS’s CI and Website Redesign!
[EN] Renewal of CANVAS’s CI and official website!
Today, July 7, at 7:00 a.m. (a little late, but that’s all part of the charm), we said goodbye to the CANVAS website and logo we’d used for about 13 years and launched a redesign of CANVAS’s corporate identity and website.
We’ve themed CANVAS’s CI design around the concept of “A Toolbox for Creating the Future.”
The entire staff worked together to create a concept video, so we’d love for you to check it out on our CI page.
We look forward to your continued support of CANVAS.

CI and Web Services That Support Everyone’s “Creativity”
CANVAS, an organization that promotes activities to create spaces for children’s creative learning, has provided opportunities for creativity and self-expression to approximately 350,000 children since its founding in November 2002.
It is the current generation of children who will build the diverse and innovative society of the future. We hope that children
around the world will connect with one another, generate new forms of expression and rich communication, and build a new world.
We believe that what adults can do to support this is to create “spaces” for them.
We want to connect passionate adults and create an environment where every child can give it their all.
Driven by this vision, we have worked to promote our activities by maintaining close collaboration with schools and educators both in Japan and abroad, government agencies, corporations, children’s centers, museums, art galleries, researchers at universities, and artists. Our goal has been
to function as a movement that provides spaces for children’s creative learning.
With the aim of further energizing children’s initiatives, we have recently redesigned the CANVAS official website and corporate identity (CI).
Children are the stars of CANVAS’s activities.
And the adults from industry, government, academia, and the community are the ones who support their efforts. Since its
founding, CANVAS has aspired to play a supporting role. We want to prepare a
spacious playground, bring in play equipment, gather friends, and pay close attention so that everyone can participate with both fun and dedication.
That is the role we wish to fulfill. We wanted our new CI to serve as a foundation for everyone’s activities as well.
Therefore, we have made the CI open source, with the goal of creating a “CI that everyone can use.” We hope that those creating brochures, websites, and physical spaces to share information about these
activities will use the materials in this “toolbox” to design with joy.I hope to contribute to the growing momentum of creative activities among children around the world.
And I hope that, through this toolkit, many people will connect with one another and new collaborations will emerge.
We adopted “A Toolbox for Building the Future” as CANVAS’s corporate identity (CI) design. Feature
1: The toolbox as the CI
. Feature 2: Everything is composed
of circles, triangles, and squares. Feature 3: Everything is composed of the three primary colors: red, blue, and yellow. Vision 1
: Endless possibilities
. Vision 2: A CI created by everyone
. Vision 3: We aim
to be a CI that provides support.

Today, at 7:00 a.m. on July 7, we bid farewell to our previous website and logo—which we had used for approximately 13 years—and finally launched our new corporate identity (CI) and website.
The concept behind CANVAS’s CI design is “a toolbox for creating the future.” All CANVAS staff members participated in the creation of the concept video.
Please take a look.
We hope our strong relationships will last forever.

CI and website to support “creation” for everyone.
CANVAS, which promotes activities to foster a creative learning environment for children, has provided spaces and opportunities for approximately 350,000 children to “create and express themselves” since its establishment in 2002.
It is the current generation of children who will build our new, multifaceted society in the future.
We hope that children around the world will connect with one another to create new means of self-expression and meaningful communication, and build a brand-new society.
What we, as adults, can do is to create the “space” for creativity. By connecting passionate adults, I wish to create an environment where every child can realize their full potential.
CANVAS has been striving to serve as a dynamic force that fosters children’s creative learning through collaboration with schools both in Japan and abroad, educators, government agencies, corporations, children’s libraries, museums, university researchers, artists, and others.
We decided to revamp CANVAS’s corporate identity and website in the hope of invigorating children’s activities more than ever.
The key players in CANVAS’s activities are the children themselves and the adults from industry, government, and academia who support their activities.
CANVAS serves as the underlying supporter.
To set up a large playground, provide plenty of tools, bring people together, and ensure that everyone enjoys themselves, gets involved, and shines—this is the role CANVAS aims to fulfill.
The concept behind the CI is the same. We hope everyone will use the CI.
We’d like people who share information about their activities through pamphlets, websites, and other platforms to use our toolbox and have fun
designing. Our hope is to help inspire children all over the world to get involved in activities. We also hope that many people will connect and collaborate through this toolbox.
The characteristics and wishes are listed below.
Characteristic 1: The toolbox is the CI.
Characteristic 2: Everything is made up of circles, triangles, and squares.
Characteristic 3: Everything is made up of the three primary colors: red, blue, and yellow.
Wish 1: Unlimited possibilities
Wish 2: Create together
Wish 2: To be a supporter.
