[Kids Creative Research Institute at Meiji University]
Here’s a recap of the “Research Institute in Meiji” event held on June 14!
The theme this time was “Transformation” and “Dress-Up”… We made items to
transform our faces and had fun becoming versions of ourselves that were different from usual.
There are all sorts of things on our faces:
eyes, noses, mouths…
skin! Hair! Some kids even say, “Moles!” But they’re not just
attached—they can also do things, too. Like
breathing or eating… In
the preschool class, the children thought about what they’d like to be able to do if they could transform into the faces they made, and then created transformation props.
Some made faces that looked strange or cute—with pink hair or lots and lots of eyes!
Some kids even wanted to make bodies, so they got creative and made their own.
In the elementary school class, the students made masks to express their feelings. Despite
their small size, these masks are packed with details that convey different emotions.
The students created many masks with a wide variety of expressions: masks for
confessing your feelings, for when you’re angry but laughing, for when you’re eating a delicious meal, for when you’re happy…
This was the final session of our three-month series at the Meiji University Research Institute, which began in April.
Thank you very much for the past three months!
I look forward to seeing all of you, our young researchers, again starting in July!
