<TEACHER Training Workshop Held at Shibuya Ward Children’s Science Center Hachilabo!>
Today, Tuesday, February 10, we welcomed Mr. Abe—PEG’s supervising instructor—to the Shibuya Ward Children’s Science Center Hachilabo, where 12 participants, including teachers from Shibuya and Sumida Wards as well as Hachilabo staff, attended the workshop.

Although most of the participants were new to programming, Mr. Abe spoke about the current state of programming education, the Raspberry Pi, examples of its implementation in schools, and children’s actual reactions. The participants listened intently while taking notes.

Participants also had the opportunity to experience firsthand how children deepen their understanding by thinking through problems—such as angle problems involving shapes—using Scratch.
Activities ranged from creating a simple game using Scratch—in which a mouse escapes from a cat—to more advanced programming that applied variables. After the session, some participants even approached us to discuss how they could have their own students try these activities.
We look forward to seeing this initiative expand even further in the future!
