[November 8 (Sat): Programming Lab in Akasaka]
On November 8, we held the Programming Lab in Akasaka.
This April marks the 8th session of Akasaka.
With the Akasaka Kids—who have been working on their projects and have so many ideas they want to explore—we took some time this session to reflect on “basic forms.” What’s the part
of your work you most want to show others? What do they want to convey to others?
How well have they mastered the “basic shapes”? What should they do next?
Caterpillars move, LEDs light up, cameras move, and game stages change.
“Basic shapes” mean something different to everyone.
The children who successfully captured their “basic shapes” that day felt a sense of accomplishment greater than anyone else’s!
We witnessed moments when they truly experienced the joy of creating.
One of the great things about Akasaka is that, even while creating freely, everyone can share the important aspects of the creative process. We looked at the projects as they took
shape, played with them together, and tested them out.
It was three hours of intense focus as we went through trial and error in preparation for the presentation. It looks like we’ll be seeing many
more happy faces exclaiming, “I did it!” in the future!
