- PEG, the Project to Promote Programming Education, Celebrates Its First Anniversary!
<PEG Programming Education Promotion Project Celebrates Its First Anniversary!> It has been a year since
this project was launched, following a visit to Japan
last year by Google Chairman Eric Schmidt.
The Raspberry Pi has been introduced at 30 elementary, middle, and high schools; 10 universities; and 35 education-related organizations, and collaborative efforts are underway in seven regions involving local
governments, school boards, and comprehensive education centers.
Training sessions have been held at 32 locations, with approximately 800 teachers having already participated.
PEG (Programming Education Gathering) was named with the hope of creating a movement to spread programming education across the country.
We’ve also launched “gatherings” in
various regions—such as the Aichi Gathering, Yokosuka Gathering, Kitakyushu Gathering, Koriyama Gathering, Miyagi Gathering, and Okinawa Gathering—where people with a keen interest in learning to program come together.
We look forward to continuing to put into practice and share exciting and engaging ways to learn programming,
so please continue to support PEG!
