[Kids Creative Lab in Ryogoku: Atelier BAUHAUS]

On Saturday, September 20, Atelier BAUHAUS held a workshop using “umbrellas” as the theme.

Materials that make the invisible visible.
Let’s capture the invisible and give it shape.

They combined
the "air-catching" bags to move their bodies in big, sweeping motions, creating all sorts of shapes.

Blowing them up, tying them together, lining them up… For the ones that were hard
to attach by herself, she’d hold them down with her feet to keep them in place, or wrap the lily-of-the-valley ribbon around them while leaning so far forward that her face almost touched the
floor—she was completely absorbed in her work, striking
all sorts of poses as she created them.

Since they wanted to show off what they had made themselves, we ended with a presentation. They had been
so focused on their projects that they leaned forward eagerly, saying, “So this is what
the other kids were making!”
