A Raspberry Pi workshop at the Niiza City Children’s Center in Saitama Prefecture!
Led by a main instructor from the center and facilitated by local college students, we created “Run Away from the Cat!”
This was the second Raspberry Pi workshop. In August, we plan to hold a presentation of the children’s projects—primarily featuring the participating kids—at the center’s planetarium.
The handmade cardboard Raspberry Pi cases crafted by the staff were also absolutely adorable!
On the second day, following the first day’s event, a Scratch workshop was held at the Niiza City Fukushi no Sato Children’s Center!
The morning session was for lower-grade elementary students, while the afternoon session was for upper-grade elementary and middle school students. The mouse-control practice software for the younger students was created by the staff using Scratch. After working together
in groups to assemble the Raspberry Pi, they each completed their own “Cat Walk” and “Run from the Cat” projects!
They spent the remaining time customizing their projects and showing them off to their friends.
