<Kyoyo Elementary School Class Report>

Yesterday, a class using Raspberry Pi was held for first-graders at Shinagawa Municipal Kyoyo Elementary School.
(Kyoyo Elementary School is currently distributing Raspberry Pi devices to all students!) This was the fourth time the first-graders, who just started school this year, had handled a
Raspberry Pi. They were able to complete the process—from assembly to startup—without any problems.

Regardless of whether it involves learning to program, it is important for even younger
students to master basic computer skills—such as “double-clicking” and “dragging”—in order to engage in learning and creative activities that utilize ICT.

At Kyoyo Elementary School, students learn
through play by creating games using Scratch that make them want to click and drag.

In yesterday's class,

● Let's Play with the Cat and the Ball
(You've cleared the level if you can pass the ball to the cat 5 times.)
● Let's Think of What the Cat Might Say
(After 5 passes, what do you think the cat will say?)
● Let's Play the Game a Friend Made

Based on a program created by the homeroom teacher, the children learn basic computer skills while adapting it to their own needs.
